"Old Places Matter" Video Contest

Throughout the years, Texas Tejano.com has been proud to play a leadership role in championing Tejano heritage and legacy. Through publications, events and digital media, we have reached audiences throughout the state and nation.
On May 1, 2015, the National Trust for Historic Preservation began a national video contest focusing on the theme “Old Places Matter Because?” The contest was intended to highlight the importance of historic buildings and places. Historical organizations from across the country submitted entries. Entries were required to be 30 seconds or less. With our video, we intended to continue telling the story of Tejanos and the first 200 years of Texas history. We're pleased to announce that Texas Tejano.com's video was chosen as one of the winners of the contest. We congratulate the other winners for their entries and diligent efforts in preserving American history.
