Viva Tejano Texas!

San Antonio – (August 21, 2012) Alamo Plaza will once again be transformed into the most exciting place in all of Texas on Saturday, August 25th as the annual Tejano Breakfast takes center stage and kicks off Tejano Heritage Month.

This family-friendly event will feature live entertainment, reenactors in period costume, presentations by noted area public figures, educational and entertainment booths and free breakfast tacos to all in attendance.

“This event has not only served as the kickoff to Tejano Heritage Month each year, it has really been our signature event. It encompasses everything we try to do each year,” says Texas Tejano.com President and Founder Rudi Rodriguez. “It is educational and entertaining and very true to Tejano roots, history and culture.”

Texas Tejano.com is proud to partner with  Citibank, The City of San Antonio, The Hispanic Heritage Center of Texas, Valero Energy and many others to help organize this year's Tejano Breakfast. Festivities start at 10am at Alamo Plaza, directly in front of the cradle of Texas liberty, The Historic Alamo Shrine.

“When people think of the Alamo, they more than likely have never thought of what Tejanos did there, especially during the Texas Revolution,” Rodriguez explains. “We want people to make that connection, to associate the Alamo with not only the ones who built it, but also died to defend it. Tejanos. Viva Tejano Texas!” Click here to view a calendar of events.
