In the December 2013 issue of Local Community News, an article appeared about the Hispanic Heritage Center of Texas and Texas Tejano.com. The article was written by feature writer, Ms. Susan Yerkes, and focused on the previous work of Texas Tejano.com championing Hispanic heritage and legacy. Also, she wrote about the new formation of the Hispanic Heritage Center, a 501c3 non-profit, and the role it will provide in leading the way to tell the story of Tejanos, the state's first pioneers.

Further, the article explained that the Center will consist of a multi national museum, research library, conference center and a vibrant Tejano Living Heritage Village. The Center will be located at HemisFair Park in the heart of downtown San Antonio, Texas.  The site is two blocks away from the Alamo and the San Antonio River.
